The 2013 banquet attendance was stellar. Honored classes were 1938, 1943, 1963, 1973, 1983 and 1988. Gary Schlapfer “64” was Master of Ceremony and entertained all with an Arlington trivia game with the winning table receiving champagne for their efforts. Problem was the 2013 scholarship recipients table won and they weren’t old enough to know some of those trivia questions let alone drink the champagne. Do you think they used their smart phones?
The Hall of Fame Award was presented to Lila (Greunke) Scheer “57” and Kent Stork “68”.
Marian Wilkins Award was presented to Beverly Adams.
The Eagle Support Award was presented to Beverly(Royuk) Greunke “64”.
Each year A.E. F. awards scholarships to 5 deserving student, 2013’s recipients are :
Jacob Albracht will be attending the University of Kansas majoring in Architecture.
Tara Busselman will be attending Midland University majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. She will also be participating in their music program.
Tyrel Hernes will be attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha majoring in Emergency Management.
Joseph Vampolab will be attending Iowa Western Community College majoring in Business.
Sydney Whitmarsh will be attending Southwestern Community College majoring in Pre-Health and playing on the volleyball team.
We wish all of our recipients a bright future in their endeavors.
